I got the job! They made me an offer yesterday. While I wasn't offered as much money as I wanted, it's still a good jump in pay for me and only slightly less than I was making when I left my permanent job. This means I'll get insurance, disability, a pension, 401K, PAID holidays and maybe next summer, I'll GET A VACATION!

It's so strange to actually be a part of the department instead of the temp where I always had to hold back or "know my place". Everyone was always nice to me but as I temp I always felt that I was on the outside looking in. Now, I'm actually part of a team and they do work as a team. Amazing.

I'm very tired and I have a headache today. One of the women in the department had a party last night. And now that I am officially an employee there, I felt obligated to go to it. It was fun, but I didn't get home until after midnight and the animals made sure I was up by 6:00am this morning. I only had a couple of glasses of wine and I stood around in the sidelines, watching everyone else. There had to be at least 40 people there, many had way too much to drink. Steve didn't go with me. He has had a very large sty in his eye, deep in his lower lid. He had antibiotic drops from the doctor, but after a week they were not helping. He had to go yesterday and have it lanced! Yuk! His eye was all swollen and black last night. Needless to say, he wanted to stay home and put ice on it.

It's supposed to be sunny but very cold all weekend. Today I'm going to spin and knit and probably nap. I have a ton of small projects swirling in my head that I want to do for Christmas. It sounds like today will be another good day to stay in the house. I'll do my chores tomorrow.
